basic training in the DC area

This training is offered regularly in a small group format over a three-month period by EMDR of Greater Washington, a joint initiative of Deany Laliotis and Dan Merlis. This training program is for mental health clinician, licensed for independent practice with experience in treating traumatized clients. All therapists must attend all training days and the scheduled phone consultation in order to earn a certificate of completion for this training. Because this training includes an experiential component, therapists must be prepared to work on personal issues in the training practice sessions and bring at least two clients to case consultations who could benefit from EMDR during the course of this training. advanced training

These workshops are available for clinicians who have already completed the Basic Training in EMDR. They are offered in a variety of venues and locations throughout the US and are designed for clinicians seeking to develop their skills in applying EMDR as a comprehensive treatment approach to psychotherapy. The advanced applications workshops will familiarize participants with a broad spectrum of EMDR applications sufficient for comfortable and efficient use of the approach with a broad range of clients and clinical situations. Special attention is given to the creative formulation of specialized hierarchies that directly address the therapeutic needs of clients. See an example of the Advanced Training curriculum.

master classes

These workshops are available for clinicians who have already completed the Basic Training, Parts I & II, and either at least one Advanced Training course in EMDR or have been actively using EMDR in their clinical practice for at least one year. Workshops are offered in a variety of venues and locations throughout the US and are designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their mastery of EMDR. presentations

Deany Laliotis presents on EMDR Psychotherapy and its advanced applications at conferences throughout the country and abroad. Such presentations provide an overview of trauma and EMDR, as well as the clinical applications of EMDR to PTSD, couples and family therapy, children and adult survivors of abuse, as well as more complex clinical presentations.
