This course is for mental health clinicians who have already completed the Basic Course in EMDR and are interested in deepening their skills in integrating this powerful and effective approach into their clinical practice. This EMDRIA-Approved advanced course will help practitioners apply EMDR theory and practice to clients who have suffered early developmental trauma and have significant attachment issues that manifest in pervasive difficulties with self and others. Participants will walk away with a deep appreciation of the "art" of EMDR psychotherapy and be able to successfully integrate EMDR into their own theoretical orientation. In addition to lecture, discussion and videotape of actual clients, participants in this advanced program will be expected to work on their own formative experiences as a means of optimizing their learning in this retreat setting.
